This fall field day will demonstrate how to collect and document native seeds for the Oklahoma Native Seed Library, a new biodiversity preservation project of the Oklahoma Natural Areas Registry. Participants will collect and seeds from a variety of native plants, but the fall timing of this workshop is to facilitate the collection of tallgrass prairie grass seeds ripening late in the growing season.
We will have collecting supplies such as paper bags and envelopes, markers, pencils, and data sheets. We will have a some tools, but encourage you to bring your own if you have them, such as gloves and hand pruners or utility scissors.
Registration is free, but required. Space is limited. Maps and directions will be provided to all registrants. Registration will open this summer.
Field day is subject to postponement due to inclement weather. Registrants will be notified by email or phone if rescheduling is required.
