In conjunction with Okies for Monarchs, the Oklahoma Native Plant Society is proud to host Sandra Schwinn who will be presenting on the status of Monarchs and how we can support their migration through Oklahoma.
Sandra is a Conservation Specialist with Monarch Watch and has raised Monarchs and other butterflies for more than 35 years in her own backyard in Oklahoma. Her backyard was certified as a Monarch Waystation in 2007. She also serves on the Oklahoma Monarch and Pollinator Collaborative as part of the Education Committee. Sandy has also established both the Oklahoma Friends of Monarch and Butterflies of Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas Facebook pages and is one of the leading experts on butterflies in Oklahoma. Sandy has assisted in creating local waystations at schools, residences and non-profits as well as speaking to various groups across the state about creating butterfly habitats.
Informal seed swap, meet and greet at 6:30pm. Sandy’s presentation will start at 7pm.
