Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden will be hosting a Monarch Awareness Day on Saturday, September 10 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Guests will be invited to help plant a new pollinator garden at the zoo and take a pledge to help monarchs. Those who take the pledge and help plant will receive a free milkweed plat to take home. There will also be information about how to plant a pollinator garden at home, opportunities to help tag monarch butterflies for Monarch Watch’s community science program, story time featuring “Juniper’s Butterfly Garden,” and an activity for kids with prizes in which they will learn how to identify Oklahoma pollinators and native plants.
