Monarch Tagging at Hackberry Flat

To celebrate the annual migration of monarch butterflies, the Wildlife Department is hosting monarch tagging at Hackberry Flat Wildlife Management Area October 2^nd through October 6^th.

Monarch tagging sessions will begin at 10:00 AM at the William H. “Bill” Crawford Building. We will discuss butterfly basics, then monarchs collected from the area will be tagged and released.

*Tagging activities will be limited to the number of butterflies caught.

• *Participants must be 10 years old for all events.
• *Registration for each event will close when the participant count reaches 20.
• *Minimum of 5 registrants is required for the event.
• *No pets allowed.
• *The scheduled events will be held regardless of the number of monarchs migrating through Hackberry Flat Wildlife Management Area.
