Ready to put your Okies for Monarchs seeds in the ground?
Let's get started!
- Scatter your seeds in a bare or semi-bare area that will receive at least six hours of sunlight per day.
- The ideal time to do so is in fall or winter, as many native plants need to experience a few cycles of freeze and thaw in order to be ready to germinate in the spring.
- However, if you want to plant them at a different time, that's okay! Some varieties may not emerge until the following spring.
- No need to freeze your seeds. This is a mix. The seeds within it that need a freeze cycle will get it naturally from nature during the next winter.
Each packet of Okies For Monarchs seed mix includes:
- Goldenrod, Partridge Pea, Prairie Coneflower, Maximilian Sunflower, Plains Coreopsis, Illinois Bundleflower, Annual Sunflower, White Yarrow, Leadplant, White Prairie Clover, Indian Blanket, Verbena, Purple Coneflower, Swamp Milkweed, Butterfly Milkweed, Showy Milkweed, Common Milkweed, and Lemon Mint, subject to availability.
