I went totally native with my entire yard 2 years ago. In retrospect, I recommend doing it in sections (the work until it’s established is a LOT). It’s totally worth the effort! I love watching the butterflies!

I want to help monarchs as well as other butterflies, bees, birds and critters. I recently planted 8 swamp milkweed and 2 prairie milkweed as well as other native Oklahoma plants. My goal is to make my yard a wild native habitat.

I currently have a butterfly garden that’s just taking off. I had many butterflies last year and hopeful this year. I have attended some educational events and support the native plant stores in the area. I’m encouraging others to choose natural ways to control pests.
