As Butterfly Chairman for Oklahoma State Garden Clubs, I do support, educate, and try to spread the word about Monarchs. As a Master Gardener, I write articles about Monarchs for newspapers, teach Master Gardener classes about Monarchs, and present programs on Monarchs to civic groups and garden clubs.

I started my butterfly garden three years ago. It was a step at a time. I love sharing with others about the monarch and milkweed.

My small front yard in central Norman went from lawn to pollinator garden and now blooms non-stop to late fall, attracting around 30 butterfly species, including monarchs. Host plants play a big role, and I would like to add more milkweeds, especially the local native ones. Glad to know about this organization. I look forward to learning more.

I am an Oklahoma Master Naturalist and I teach Natural Science and Nature Study to homeschool children ages 3-2nd grade. I love teaching my students about Monarchs each year and following their migration journey. I finally have some thriving milkweed in my garden and I plan to plant more. I also plan to propose and help build and register a Monarch Way Station at my local nature park and to register my personal garden. I am excited to continue learning about monarchs and making Oklahoma a welcoming place for them.
